“Erdem”:

Erdem has a unique journey that started as an Assistant Coach in Ankara and later becoming Head Coach in Olin Edirne as a 30year old. After losing his job he transitioned to becoming a long time Assistant at Fenerbahce Ulker, first under Simone Pianigiani before he earned the trust of Zeljko Obradovic and stayed with him the rest of Zeljko’s tenure. Amongst many domestic championships they managed to win the Euroleague together in 2017. Erdem also spent a year at the Utah Jazz as an Assistant under Quin Snyder before returning to Europe and now being a successful Head Coach at Turk Telekom Ankara.

Today’s topics included a variety of different subjects that ended up being a tree with lots of different branches. We went from talking about Erdem earning the trust of Zeljko early on, the duties he saw while being an Assistant and what lessons carried over to his current role as a Head Coach. We also touched on his time in Utah while being an Assistant to Quin Snyder and Erdem transitioning to finally becoming a Head Coach with a big bag of experience to come with it. A very insightful conversation about his journey and the lessons he took from it to apply now.
