Gerrit Kersten-Thiele began his career in basketball representation in 2003, co-founding Scorers 1st and building an international agency. He became a certified NBA player agent in 2008, then made the move from agent to sports director when he joined RASTA Vechta in 2022. During his time at the club, RASTA won the ProA title and returned to the Bundesliga in 2023.

In this episode, we talk about the early challenges he faced as a young agent, negotiation from both sides of the table—as an agent and a sports director—and what led him to change roles. We also discuss RASTA Vechta, its youth program, developing staff, and the many similarities and differences between life as an agent and a sports director.
